For all Serious Students of the Bible
Don’t think this is just for college students. In fact, this class is for anyone of any age, and any background who loves good and meaty Bible study. It will help you study the Bible better, have a greater appreciation of English translation, and so very much more. By the end of this class you will have a vocabulary of about 650 Greek words and be able to translate the Greek NT using beginners’ reading helps.
In a addition, this course will prepare you for other very special Bible study things we’ll be doing in the CWP Classroom.
“Why I’m Taking the College-Level Greek Class “
Patrick Spicer just finished the “Greek as a Spiritual Disciplines” class in late August (2011).
He wrote this about his experience:

Patrick Spicer
Here’s my take on the “Greek as a Spiritual Discipline” class that I just finished …
I liked everything about this class: the concept, format, content, teaching, and materials. The class was meatier than expected. Not only did it provide an excellent introduction to biblical Greek, but also guidance and resources to go well beyond afterward. Early in the course I was able to use additional study tools and do word studies more thoroughly and accurately. Also very important, I think I’m better able to recognize when I’m out of my depth and not go beyond what a biblical text and its historical context warrants.
A course like this should be, at the very least, a required Greek-appreciation course for all Christians. I have a greater appreciation for the difficulties of Bible translation, the value of having and using multiple translations, and the crucial need to stop reading unwarranted assumptions into Scripture and drawing unwarranted inferences from it. Not least, I appreciate the expertise, passion, and humility with which Gary teaches the class.
Bless you and, Lord willing, see you soon in the September 10 class. I’ll be there!

Basic Info for the College-Level Greek Class . . .
1st year: college level Greek. Equivalent of 6 credit hours. It needs to be clear that we do not offer college credit.
- This class will give you the knowledge and experience without the high cost.
- This class is also designed to enable you to “test out” of 1st year college level Greek. You should always check with the college first about what they require or whether they will allow you to “test out.”
10 months, divided into 5 modules of 8 weeks each (40 weeks). This means we won’t go too fast for working people.
We will meet every week via recorded video conferencing on the internet. Each week’s class will be recorded, so if you miss a class or simply want to review it you can do so as many times as you like.
You will have a special private student web area with downloadable handout materials, quizzes, tests, and the like.

Huge Savings
There is a cost (see “Tuition” below), but not anything like what you would pay at a college. You can even register on a monthly basis. Send us your name below and you’ll get full details.
“I’m saving a minimum of 1,400 by taking the class this way. For example, if I took a year at my chosen grad school in Tennessee, even with my scholarship it would cost me $2000. But at a nearby grad school here in Indy it would be $3045. So there’s a potential for saving much more. Also, taking it a bit more slowly allows me to start working on it alongside work, and possibly one other class…before I can actually enroll in school full time.“
Dawn Gentry, Children’s Minister, Post Road Christian Church.

Common Questions
Q: When does the class begin? A: As soon as you register for it. As in 5 minutes from now.
Q: How does the class meet? A: Everything but the textbook is online.
- The textbook must be purchased by you separately. See above under “Textbooks.”
- Every week you get a new video (recorded live) and any written material. Review the class as many times as you like.
- You also have access to a private online Greek Forum: ask questions, get answers, help others.
Q: Do I need any previous Greek training? No. However, if you took our “Greek as a Spiritual Discipline class, you’ll find that it helps you.
Q: How much time will be required each week? To keep up with the class, you should be prepared to spend a minimum of 1 hour per day (x5) in preparation. Some students may want to spend more than that.
Q: What if I have to miss a class now and then? Not a problem. All classes are recorded live and you will be able to simply watch the video whenever you like to catch up. As a student of this class you always have access to the materials and videos of this class from this point forward.
Q: What is the focus of the class? A: The focus of this class is on College Level NT Greek. We will cover in 40 weeks what college classes cover in about 25 to 30 weeks. This means we will go a tad slower and give working people an opportunity to keep up easier. We estimate a minimum amount of time needed for the class will be about an hour a day.
Q: Do I need anything special? A: Yes. High speed internet and the ability to watch online videos and PDF files. You do not need any previous Greek training. If you took Greek as a Spiritual Discipline with us, you will notice some things are easier going for a while. But you will still need to spend time studying or you will quickly fall behind. Greek is something you want to do steadily, not hit and miss.
Q: How do I get started. A: Just pick choice 1, 2, or 3 below to get this ball rolling.

Households
Members of the same household may share a single account. However, members of separate households (even if related to each other) sharing a single account will be considered in bad taste and an abuse of our attempt to be generous. If such is discovered, we will ask you to pay for the extra person. Please be ethical in the use of our system.
Refunds
Because we offer a 14-day trial option, we do not offer refunds. You will be able to tell what kind of course this is going to be from the first 14 days. Your registration covers all live presentations, videos, handouts, tests and quizzes, and access to the ongoing Greek Forum. After the class is over, you still will have access to the Greek Forum.
Why are there no refunds?
- You have a 14 day $1 trial.
- The class will be recorded in full and you will keep all materials, videos, notes, and access to the Greek Forum that you have paid for.
- We provide a monthly pay-as-you-go option for those who might wish to stop along the way. You still keep all the materials you have paid for and you can restart the program at any time.
- Very frankly: we are a small, but growing, online training program on a shoestring budget. Every dime that comes in goes immediately to pay for operations. However, we have worked very hard to provide top quality courses . . . as our students will attest! (See testimonials above and on other pages of this website.)
Stopping Your Program
Please Note: This system is automated through PayPal. PayPal has a habit of charging from a day early to a day late. So if you plan to stop your program or cancel it, allow yourself a little time. (We want to avoid hassles just like you do.)
