BA, Houston Baptist University
Patrick is an extremely gifted teacher in the CWP Greek program. He has the rare gift and reputation of being both “methodical and exacting” and “approachable and compassionate.” In addition, he is also our technical guru and has brought that to bear on the creation of a suite of substantial Greek study tools available nowhere else in any other Greek program in the world.
Patrick graduated from Houston Baptist University with a double major in Computer Information Systems and Business Management. He worked full-time for Exxon while attending HBU, continued with Exxon after graduation, and remained with them for 21 years in various IT positions before leaving ExxonMobil Chemicals’ Global Information Services division to pursue other interests—eventually leading to his studying New Testament Greek under Gary Collier. Speaking of Patrick, Collier states,
“Of all the Greek students I have been around in all of my university career, including my 15 years teaching biblical languages in seminaries and universities, Patrick is in the top 1%! Anybody who studies Greek with Patrick will soon regard himself or herself as incredibly fortunate.”
Patrick has been involved in men’s ministry for over 15 years, at one time leading the men’s group in Beth Moore’s Water’s Edge Sunday School class at Houston’s First Baptist Church and teaching life development courses as a volunteer in the Star of Hope Mission‘s men’s six-month residency program. Patrick has also done frequent volunteer work at the Lanier Theological Library in Houston. Freedom in Christ and unity among Christians are areas of particular interest, and he desires to leverage his background in IT to serve the Body of Christ in these areas.
